The
Easy-Release Silicone Ice Cube Tray with Lid, Set of 2 is a nice set.
I used to have an ice maker but it quit working. I have not had
normal size ice cubes in a long time. When I saw this set I thought
I would try it and now we have ice again! I make the cubes and then
take them out and put them in the ice maker bin.
These
trays have a lid that just sits on top of them. The lid keeps it from
other things getting in them when I stick other stuff in the freezer.
It also makes it so that I can stack the 2 trays on top of each
other. I really like this since I don't have that much flat space in
my freezer. I do wish that the lids sealed them up for spills but I
can deal with it this way.
The
cubes push out easily. I just push the cube from the bottom and out
it pops. I do not have to spray the trays at all.
I
found that there was no odor or taste from the trays even after I had
something else other than water in the tray.
These
trays are dishwasher safe. I love that since I hate to hand wash
dishes.
I
have used these for a few things now. They work well for finger
jello, also called jello jigglers. My grandkids love those so With
these I can make lots at a time in serving size cubes. I also used
them to make some cubes of frozen cola. This way when I pour the
glass of cola, I can use the cola cubes and as they melt they don't
water down my drink. I want to also try coffee cubes but have not
had the chance yet.
I
would recommend these if you are looking for silicone ice cube trays
that you can stack. These are so much nicer than the old fashioned
ones.
