I got the Heart Felt Bamboo Reusable Cloth Menstrual Pads (Spots Print, 5 Pack) for my niece to try.  The brand they have used previously is no longer available.  My niece is 14 and was so excited to try these.  She really liked the print.  I think this brand has a new customer! Here are her mom’s thoughts on the product:

• These pads were very soft and comfortable and also very beautiful.

• There were no problems with leakage.

• They were easy to put on and stayed in position.

• There were no directions included to tell how to use them or wash them. We just washed them in warm water and they came out fine. Prior to washing, we rinsed them out by hand until the water ran clear. The feeling of the synthetic material was a little icky during the rinsing process.

• Overall, they were a good purchase that met our needs well. We may buy more when we need them again.

When I got the Kitchen Herb Shears (5 Blades) and Kitchen Scissors Set, Soft Handle, Red and Black, Extra Sharp, Professional Grade Stainless Steel Culinary Food with Cooking Ebook, I did not know what all I was getting.  This is a nice set though.  Here are my thoughts:

Pros:

• If your house is anything like mine, I can NEVER find my kitchen shears when I need it.  This set has a big magnetic holder for the shears.   I put it on my fridge so now I can see at a glance if any of the kids have grabbed it and not put it back.  I always know where to find it.

• The blades are VERY sharp!!!  Be very careful so you don’t cut yourself.

• These items are dishwasher safe.  They recommend hand washing but say you can also use the dishwasher.  I hate handwashing so this is good for me.

• I had never used an herb shears before so I wasn’t sure what to do with it.  I tried it with my green onions and it worked great.  I also put my cabbage in a bowl in chunks and took the shears and kept cutting to make a good coleslaw.

• It also has a little comb thing to clean out between the blades of the herb shears.

Cons:

• The peeler on the kitchen shears is a bit awkward to me.  Not a big deal though.  I only plan to use it as a scissors.

Pros:
• Mine have not stained yet. I have used them on tomato products and no stains.
• Food slips right off of them.  I guess that is what silicone is all about.
• They do not scratch my non stick pans.
• They each have a hole on the end of the handle for hanging.
• There are 6 pieces:  Spatula, turner, spaghetti spoon, ladle, spoon and large draining spoon.  The large straining spoon is a real plus for me.  You don’t always see these in a set.
• They come in a clear tube so they could be nice for gifting.
• They are dishwasher safe.  This is a must for me!
Cons:
• They don’t slide easily into my utensil crock.

The Blackhead Remover, Comedone Extractor, Pimple & Blemish Extractor Kit by Aotearoa Beauty is a nice product.  It is high quality.  I have never seen something like this before.  It has instructions but I also googled these to get a good visual on how to do it.  I would suggest doing the same if you have no idea about how to do this.  I got this for my daughter and she is trying to get it figured out.  I have found that when she pops her pimples using the tools she doesn’t have the big red spot surrounding the pimple.  It is much smaller.  This is a big plus.  We are still working on the black head part and figuring it out.  We have done it with some larger blackheads but I think we have to steam her face longer to get the smaller ones.  They clean up well with alcohol.  I also like the zipper pouch they come in.  This keeps them from getting lost in the drawer.  I received this product at a discount in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

Heritage Acacia Wood Pizza Peel

The Heritage Acacia Wood Pizza Peel is just beautiful! I did not expect it to look anything like it did.  The wood is so beautiful and it is nice and smooth.  It is heavy and thick.  The edges have a slight bevel. I tried to show it in a picture.  I have had no problems with this peel.  There is a hole in the handle so you can hang it.

My only thing with this is that it is so pretty that it would make a great wall hanging.  You could either paint, woodburn or put a decal on it and hang it in the kitchen.  This would even make a great gift.  They could use the other side for the pizza if they wanted.

I am not a coffee drinker like my husband but I do like tea. I had the chance to get the The Abundant Kitchen 8 cup Professional French Press and Tea Infuser (1 Liter, 34 Oz) and knew I wanted to try it.  Here are my thoughts on it after trying it:

Pros:

• It is a beautiful glass press.  You can see how dark it is and how much is left in the pot.

• It says that it has a 3 part filtration but I would say it really only has 2.  The one doesn’t do anything.  With that being said it still works great. I have had a stray tea leaf but it was probably a leaf I got in the water myself.

• If you don’t like coffee you can use tea.  I actually love that I can use loose tea leaves and some raspberries too.  When I press them the raspberry seeds don’t go through so I don’t get them in my teeth.  And it tastes GREAT!!

• The instructions are very clear as to how to use it.

• The handle does not get hot.  I thought it would but it doesn’t.

• The plunger slides nice and smoothly.

• There are 2 extra filters included.

Cons:

• I could do without the logo on the glass. 

Ideas:

• I have tried tea, coffee and cocoa.

• Add milk or cream for a treat.  This is even good with the tea and berries.

My daughter was moving out so I got this GalleyFresh Kitchenware Professional V-Slicer, Mandoline Slicer, Food Chopper, Fruit & Vegetable Cutter, 7 Piece Set and gave her my old one.  This one has a lot more options than the one that I had.  Here are my thoughts:

Pros:

• It has rubber feet that keep it from slipping.  This is really good for safety.  I have neuropathy and have a hard time holding things.  This helps me feel safe using it.

• It is easy to clean!  It just rinses off and then I put it in the dishwasher.  No stuck on mess.

• It has 5 blade choices.  This is much better than my old one.  There are 3 sizes for slices and 2 different julienne choices.  This makes me happy and I can make thick or thin slices.

• It has a food holder/guard.  It has prongs that hold the food as you slice it.  Again this is a good thing for my neuropathy.  I worry about cutting myself but not with this one.

• It is very sharp!  Do not touch any of the blades. You WILL get cut.

• It is made of plastic and stainless.

• The blades are easy to change.  You just push the red button and switch the blades.

• There is a storage case for the blades.  Again, the blades are sharp and you do not want them floating around in a drawer to cut you.

Cons:

• It takes up a bit of space in the drawer.  I consider it worth it though for the benefit you get from it.

• I wish it had a grater too.
