I also like it for putting lettuce in the large compartment, croutons in a small one and crackers or bacon bits in the other. This way they stay crispy and not all soggy. I have not used it in the microwave so I cannot really say how well it holds up with that. I have used it in a freezer and that worked well. Everything seems to stay in its own compartment. I was worried but the way the lid is it fits into each compartment. I would recommend this product. Just treat it with care and don't expect to just pull the lid off like it was tupperware.
